Half the people out there don't even know that and just stick event moves on their Pokemon, hack it with the right Hidden Power, etc. Wish is a NY event, and Seismic Toss is a FRLG move tutor. Even in Wifi, I see everybody with Seismic Toss and Wish Blissey and I'm wondering where they even got that. Most of them don't even know why the EV spreads are made as such. I want to enjoy battling, there will be some gains and some losses, but there is nothing more satisfying than destroying your opponent with a Luvdisc or something. Seaking can be a beast if used properly, even if it requires more support than Gyarados. Now okay, some Pokemon obviously won't work (Unown, Ditto, etc.) but stuff like, I don't know, Seaking. "X outclasses Y so don't ever use Y!" What if Y is my favorite Pokemon? If I had the right support, I'm sure I can make it work. and it seems most people do that and always follow what they say. I'd be rich if I had a single unit of money for every time someone said "Smogon is always right" or the likes. They have good articles, have a damage calculator which is very useful, but it's just how people use it that bugs me. Smogon is a good website to help set certain guidelines and I do use it from time to time. I'm not suggesting Smogon should never exist. Why in god's name do I always make posts this big when it's not needed ![]() But that is a lot of unneeded work for what the program aims to do. I dunno, something like red being a reliable stab, moves that can be combined to form common combo attacks being coloured one way (for instance parafusion moves being coloured in yellow). I guess what I would add to the program if it was possible would be a way of colour coding moves that a pokemon can learn. It just provides me a nice template instead of having to type and tick everything in which is the program's initial goal any way I would assume. In saying that though, I do really like the program, and I find some use out of it without it being counter productive, as I can add my own spin on the sets once I have taken them from the program. well you know all that general stand up against the system hippy jazz. So I say make it harder to be uncreative, provoke creative thought and. Whereas a bunch of smogon copypasata generally looks full of holes, overdone and already countered before it was even made. ![]() Because I know that if you've ever rated a team, you'll see that sets that shine from the norm are usually those that someone has put individual thought into and actively tested. Surely as battlers we should be making it HARDER to be uncreative. Like everyone else has said, it only gives the popular sets more fame and quite openly disregards the use of anything sebata's last post. I guess the problem is just that, really. However in saying that, a lot of sets I have made are, well biased I guess but in my opinion, pretty damn good, and thus they wouldn't have come to be. I'm torn with it, if I had have had this program when I first started then I probably would have won a lot more and probably be a better battler now. I wrote this program just for kicks, so I take no credit for the strategies/listing, all the credit goes to people at Smogon. My program also has update options, so when the tier change or new strategies get added, the program will up to date. ![]() If you hover your mouse over the move-sets in the Strategy window, a new window with details about the attacks will appear. + Competitive battling tier, according to this siteĭon't just think of this program as just a generator, its also provides move-sets and strategies from Smogon. Okay, so my program can search for a Pokemon or team based on: ![]() However, I did write the program from scratch and did not borrow any code from the original. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was inspired by the original Pokemon team generator, so I decided to write this program, it's a bit of an upgrade.
